Hastings Hotels is a family owned, luxury hotel group based in Northern Ireland and we are opening a new venue in the heart of Great Victoria Street in Belfast City Centre - The Halt. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to become part of our team opening The Halt. You will have the opportunity to work with our friendly team, develop your skills and enjoy the variety offered by a role in hospitality. The successful candidate can expect to work 22 hours per week (excluding breaks), four shifts out of seven including weekends. Typical shift patterns are from 6am-12noon. The salary for this position is £14,186 per annum.
About the role:
- To be responsible for serving food & beverages for the greatest enjoyment of our guests.
- To maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the service areas according to Hastings Standards.
- To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service and that all guest needs and expectations are met.
- Typical tasks include clearing and setting tables, taking orders, serving food and beverages and taking payments.
- To ensure all cash, charges, floats and till procedures are carried out correctly.
- Greeting guests and responding to their queries.
- To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.
- To always maintain the security of stock areas, immediately reporting any breaches.
- To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
- To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.
- To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
- To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as required by management.
About You:
- Good Command of English Language.
- Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
- Must be educated to GCSE level or the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths.
- Must have excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.
- Must have a professional appearance.
