Location: Coast Road, Ballygally Castle Hotel, Hastings Hotels, Northern Ireland

Hastings Hotels is a family owned, luxury hotel group based in Northern Ireland. We value our people and offer opportunities for learning and development. The role is for a four-star Ballygally Castle Hotel, reporting to the General Manager, Scott Weatherup, and supports the Hotel Management Team in the effective and efficient running of the hotel to deliver an exceptional standard of service.

The successful candidate can expect to work a variety of shifts, 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends. The salary for this full-time position is £33,000 per annum. About The Role

Responsibilities

  • To manage and motivate staff through effective communication, training and development, in accordance with company policies and relevant employment legislation, ensuring HR procedures are followed (performance reviews, development plans, discipline, grievance, etc.).
  • To provide input into the preparation of annual budgets, agreeing and implementing mechanisms to manage costs and the hotel\’s performance, with plans created, agreed, communicated, implemented and reviewed.
  • To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
  • To ensure the premises’ fabric, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented to high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • To partner with Group Sales and Marketing to promote and market the business; network with clients and develop relationships to enhance revenue opportunities.
  • To understand the implications and knock-on effects of development activity on other areas of the business and work toward business success.
  • To identify where resource effort should be placed to deliver long-term goals and priorities.
  • To ensure quality standards and procedures are implemented and reviewed across the hotel, using feedback for continual improvement.
  • To collaborate with other functions to improve customer service delivered by the team and keep customer service on the agenda with data to show improvements.
  • To maintain effective communication so plans, challenges and successes are understood and aligned to Company requirements.
  • To create and promote opportunities to develop effective working relationships within the hotel, the Group and externally.
  • To maintain and strengthen the Group’s commitment to having a well-presented, well-trained and efficient workforce that reflects the diversity of the community.
  • To liaise with suppliers and external contacts as appropriate, and to seek knowledge about industry trends and competitor activity to inform future plans.
  • To ensure an effective and safe working environment in compliance with Licensing Laws, Health, Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Security and other statutory requirements.
  • Any other duties as required by the General Manager.

You will have previous senior hotel management experience across a range of departments.

  • Educated to GCSE Standard or equivalent with grades A-C in English
