Front of House Receptionist – Grand Central Hotel, Belfast
Location: 9-15 Bedford St, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Hastings Hotels is a family‑owned luxury hotel group based in Northern Ireland. We value our people and strive to deliver an excellent guest experience. Join our Hotel Reception Team at the exclusive Grand Central Hotel and work under the inspiring leadership of General Manager Jake McHugh.
The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), in a five‑shift rota across seven days, including weekends. Typical shift patterns include 7am‑3pm and 3pm‑11pm.
Salary: £23,660 per annum. Benefits: Free staff meals, employee discounts, 29 days holiday plus your birthday, and opportunities for career progression and development.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and perform efficient, professional check‑in and check‑out procedures.
- Provide knowledge of hotel facilities and local attractions; proactively promote hotel services.
- Handle accurate and efficient guest billing processes and balance accounts at shift end.
- Manage bank, cash, foreign currency and all related transactions.
- Answer telephone calls and assist guests with reasonable requests.
- Respond to complaints and find appropriate solutions.
- Maintain a clean and tidy reception area according to departmental standards.
- Report technical and maintenance needs, and ensure security of reception and storage areas.
- Comply with all health, safety, hygiene and licensing policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a harmonious working environment.
- Perform any other duties as required by management.
Required Criteria
- Good communication, numeracy and IT skills.
- Customer care experience.
- Smart, well‑groomed appearance.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as a team player.
- Right to work within the United Kingdom.
- Educated to at least GCSE Standard or equivalent (English and Math).

- Reception experience, ideally gained in a hotel.
