We are passionate about good food that is locally sourced, whether our guests are enjoying a relaxing afternoon tea in the Lounge, or a sumptuous feast in the Grill Restaurant, each and every dish is expertly prepared by our talented culinary team with an emphasis on food provenance.
Supported by our General Manager, Sam Denning, you will assist in providing leadership, and day-to-day supervision of our food and beverage team. We want to help you to develop your skills and offer an extensive range of learning and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will have worked in a high-quality hospitality environment and be able to lead, motivate, and support team members to achieve success. You can expect to work 45 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends.
As F&B Manager, you will have a fully flexible approach as working patterns will include days, evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
This full-time position offers a salary starting from £30,250 per annum.

About The Role
To assist with the management of service in the Hotel for the greatest enjoyment of guests and maximum profit contribution to the hotel.
- To take responsibility for the effective leadership of employees in the absence of the General Manager, to ensure the efficient operation of the F&B outlets within the Hotel and the delivery of Hastings product and service standards.
- To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.
- To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, and that formal and informal feedback is used to ensure continual improvement.
- To ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems.
- To ensure employees receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
- To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.
- To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for hotels services.
- To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution.
- To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments, suppliers and customers to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
- To ensure fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards.
- To ensure the security of storage areas is maintained at all times.
- To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
- To seek and continuously develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity, to provide input into future plans and activities, and so maintain and enhance market position.
- To assist with the recruitment, selection and utilisation of employees to achieve the optimum use of employee resource in line with business peaks and troughs.
- To contribute to the development of the Hotel\’s business plan, projects and initiatives to continually develop the business and market position.
- To ensure the hotel\’s compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation.
- Any other duties as required by management.

Required Criteria

- Excellent attention to detail

- A professional appearance
- Previous supervisory experience in a hospitality setting
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths
- Demonstrable ability to deliver an exceptional standard of service
Desired Criteria
- Previous management experience gained in a similar high-quality establishment
- A qualification in Tourism & Hospitality Management
- Experience in preparing rosters, wage forecasting and budgeting
