The Stormont Hotel is a four‑star hotel located minutes from Belfast City Centre, adjacent to Stormont Estate, ideal for weddings, conferences and events. As Events Manager you will lead our friendly team, develop your skills and enjoy a varied role in hospitality.
The successful candidate will work mainly office hours, Monday‑Friday (35 hours per week excluding breaks), with flexibility for occasional weekend work as required. The expected annual salary is £28,000.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient operation of selling events and generating bookings while delivering Hastings service standards.
- Liaise with customers face‑to‑face, via email, telephone and website enquiries.
- Communicate to relevant departments the full details of upcoming business and all client requirements.
- Keep the Food and Beverage Teams updated on a daily basis of any last‑minute business and amendments to weekly function sheets.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets/budgets set by senior management via cold calling, warm calling, client site visits, upselling and increasing revenue streams where possible.
- Promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
- Create reports for Business Development Meetings and maintain a sound knowledge of business on the books.
- Keep abreast of current trends in the events business such as weddings, functions and conferences.
- Ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, using formal and informal feedback to ensure continual improvement.
- Ensure all Events employees receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments, suppliers and agencies to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Continuously develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity, providing input into future plans and activities and maintaining the market position.
- Ensure the hotel’s compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Any other duties as required by management.

Desired Criteria
- Previous sales/management experience in hospitality
- A degree in Events Management or Tourism and Hospitality Management
