About the Role
Prepare and supervise Breakfast to ensure this most important meal of the day is presented to Hastings standards.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the effective supervision of kitchen employees, to ensure efficient operation of the Breakfast function.
- Promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
- Ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood and implemented, and daily checking procedures are fully applied.
- Ensure company policies relating to stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored.
- Ensure the junior Kitchen team receive the appropriate training and coaching to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
- Ensure the junior Kitchen team work to Hastings standards, providing feedback to deliver effective and efficient service.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments and suppliers to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ensure the security of kitchen and storage areas is maintained.
- Ensure the kitchen areas, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as required.
Required Criteria
- Good communication skills
- A clean and tidy appearance
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Right to Work in the United Kingdom
- Must have previous experience at a similar level gained within a high quality catering operation
- Must have NVQ level 2 or the equivalent in Food Preparation and Cooking and hold a recognised current Food Hygiene Certificate
Desired Criteria
- Experience as a breakfast Chef
- Educated to GCSE Standard or the equivalent including English and Maths
- Basic Food Hygiene certificate
