Supported by our General Manager, Stacy Hooper, you will assist in providing leadership, and smooth day-to-day supervision of our busy team. As one of County Down’s finest bars and restaurants, The Cultra Inn provides the freshest and most mouth-watering menus. From breakfast to dinner, we use only the finest locally sourced ingredients to create memorable dishes that showcase the best local, seasonal produce, matched with a delightful selection of beverages.
Wherever you are on the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Culloden Estate & Spa, our guests savour our warm and inviting ambience, where they cosy up by the log fire on cooler evenings with an excellent selection of wines, or take in the breathtaking views with a cocktail from our outdoor dining area on warmer days.
The successful candidate will have worked in a busy bar environment and be able to lead, motivate and support team members to achieve success. You can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends. As a senior member of the team, you will have a fully flexible approach as working patterns will include days, evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
This full-time position offers a salary of up to £27,000 per annum. About The Role:
- To support the General Manager and take responsibility for the effective leadership of the team in their absence, ensuring the efficient operation of the Cultra Inn and the delivery of Hastings product and service standards.
- To manage and motivate employees through effective communication, training and development, in accordance with company policies and relevant employment legislation, ensuring procedures are followed.
- To ensure bar stocks are fully maintained and that goods and products are properly displayed to a high standard.
- To prepare and dispense drinks as requested by guests, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.
- To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for services at the Cultra Inn and the wider Culloden Estate.
- To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find an appropriate solution.
- To ensure that the bar, customer areas, and equipment are maintained in a clean and tidy manner in accordance with Hastings standards.
- To receive payments for beverages sold and record drinks and goods sold to guests, in accordance with operating procedures.
- To use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, to maintain proper measures and ensure minimum wastage.
- To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.
- To maintain the security of stock areas at all times, immediately reporting any breaches.
- To contribute to planning and forecasting such as budgets, putting in place appropriate mechanisms to effectively manage costs.
- To support with all factors relating to the profitable performance of the Cultra Inn, ensuring appropriate plans are created, agreed, communicated, implemented and reviewed.
- To ensure Hastings quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, and that formal and informal feedback is used to ensure continual improvement.
- To ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems.
- To comply with all health, safety, hygiene and licensing policies and procedures.
- To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
- To ensure the hotel’s compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation.
- Any other duties as required by Management.
