Under the inspiring leadership of our Executive Head Housekeeper, you will work with our friendly team, develop your skills, and enjoy the variety offered by a role in hospitality. We want to help you to develop your skills and offer an extensive range of learning and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will have worked in a busy professional cleaning or hospitality environment, and be a proactive team player. You can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends. The salary for this full-time position is £23,478 per annum, paid weekly.

About The Role

  • To ensure that all housekeeping areas within the hotel are cleaned and presented to the Hastings Standard for the greatest enjoyment of our guests.
  • To clean and service bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas of the hotel.
  • Typical tasks include vacuuming, mopping, cleaning toilets, stripping and making beds.
  • To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.
  • To always maintain the security of bedrooms and stock, immediately reporting any breaches and dealing with lost property in accordance with company procedures.
  • To work effectively with colleagues to promote a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
  • To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and services, and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
  • To greet guests and respond to their queries in a warm and professional manner.
  • To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.
  • To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as required by management.

Required Criteria

Desired Criteria

  • Educated to Level 2 (GCSE grades A-C) or the equivalent in English and mathematics
  • Previous experience in professional cleaning or hospitality; preferably in a Hotel
