Supported by our Beverage Manager, you will provide leadership to our team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our busy Lough Bar. We want to help you to develop your skills and offer an extensive range of learning and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will have worked in a busy hospitality environment and be able to provide an exceptional standard of service. You can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven. As a Supervisor you will have a flexible approach as working patterns will include days, evenings, and weekends as required. This full-time position offers a salary of up to £26,390 per annum.

About The Role

  • To be responsible for the presentation of the Lough Bar and the service of food and beverage for the greatest enjoyment of our guests.
  • To take responsibility for the effective supervision of the team, to ensure an efficient operation and the delivery of Hastings product and service standards.
  • To support other outlets within the Culloden Estate as and when required.
  • To ensure bar stocks are fully maintained and that goods and products are properly displayed to a high standard.
  • To prepare and dispense drinks as requested by guests, maintaining high standards of presentation.
  • To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.
  • To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services.
  • To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution or escalate, if required, to the management team in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that the bar, guest areas and equipment are maintained in accordance with Hastings standards.
  • To receive payments for sales and record drinks and goods sold to guests in accordance with operating procedures.
  • To use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, maintaining proper measures and ensuring minimum wastage.
  • To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.
  • To maintain the security of stock areas at all times, immediately reporting any breaches.
  • To ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are maintained and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems.
  • To ensure the team receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
  • To comply with all health, safety, hygiene and licensing policies and procedures.
  • To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments, suppliers and agencies to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • To ensure the hotel's compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation.
  • Any other duties as required by Management.

Required Criteria

  • Right to Work in the United Kingdom
  • Educated to Level 2 (GSCE) or the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a food and beverage role.
  • A professional appearance.
  • Ability to deliver an exceptional standard of customer service.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve success.

Desired Criteria

  • Educated to Level 6 (Undergraduate Degree) or the equivalent, in a relevant field such as Tourism and Hospitality Management or working towards.
  • Previous supervisory experience gained in a high-quality establishment.
