About The Role

  • To be responsible for the presentation of the bar and the service of beverages and snacks for greatest enjoyment of our guests.
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the service areas according to Hastings Standards.
  • To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service and that all guest needs and expectations are met.
  • Typical tasks include, bar stocks, preparing and serving beverages, taking orders and payments.
  • Greeting guests and responding to their queries.
  • To ensure all cash, charges, floats and till procedures are carried out correctly.
  • To use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, to maintain proper measures and ensure minimum wastage.
  • To always maintain the security of stock areas, immediately reporting any breaches.
  • To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
  • To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.
  • To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
  • To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as required by management.

About You

  • We would love you to have some similar previous experience, but this is not essential as our Food and Beverage Managers will provide you with full training.
  • Must have previous bar experience gained in a quality hotel/bar.
  • Must have a professional appearance.
  • Must have excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.
  • Good Command of English Language.
  • Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
  • Must be educated to GCSE level of the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths.
