The Halt is our newest concept venue located in the former Europa Bus Station right in the heart of Belfast City Centre. Whether it's grabbing a coffee on the commute or catching up with friends over pints, cocktails, and casual bites, The Halt will be a vibrant, contemporary space with great atmosphere and great people. We are now on the lookout for a passionate and reliable Venue Manager to lead this new chapter.
Under the inspiring leadership of Andrew McNeill, General Manager of the Europa Hotel, you'll oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operation of The Halt. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will lead a small energetic team, have full food and beverage control, and deliver an unforgettable guest experience that reflects the authentic vibe of Belfast City. You can expect to work 45 hours per week (excluding breaks), 5 shifts out of 7 including weekends.
About The Role
- Manage and motivate your team through effective communication, training and development.
- Create a working environment that is respectful, supportive, and energising.
- Oversee all operational aspects of The Halt including bar, food service, and front-of-house.
- Ensure full food and beverage stock control, from ordering to waste management.
- Monitor budgets, control costs, and deliver profitable performance across all areas.
- Uphold Hastings Hotels quality standards and promote continual improvement.
- Recruit and onboard team members, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time.
- Proactively deal with customer queries and complaints with warmth and professionalism.
- Liaise effectively with partners, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across the venue.
- Take responsibility for licensing, health and safety, and hygiene in line with legislation and company policy.
