We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to become part of our Hotel Reception Team at the exclusive Grand Central Hotel

Under the inspiring leadership of our General Manager, Jake McHugh, you will have the opportunity to work with our friendly team, develop your skills and enjoy the variety offered by a role in hospitality.

The successful candidate can expect to work 21 hours per week (excluding breaks), three shifts out seven including weekends.

Hours are from 11pm-7am, 3 shifts out of 7 including weekends.

The salary for this exciting part time position is £15,600 pa

About The Role

About the Role

To be responsible for the effective management of the night team ensuring the efficient running of the hotel during the night.

1.To manage and motivate staff through effective communication, training and development, in accordance with company policies and relevant employment legislation, ensuring HR procedures are followed.

2.To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.

3.To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood, implemented and regularly reviewed, and that formal and informal feedback is used to ensure continual improvement.

4.To ensure company policies relating to cash handling are implemented and monitored, taking appropriate action to resolve problems.

5.To ensure all night staff receive the appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with company standards.

6.To ensure you and the team are aware of all hotel services and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.

7.To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and the amenities and attractions in the locality.

8.To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services

9.To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution.

10.To ensure you and the team take responsibility for the security of the hotel and relevant storage areas.

11.To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments and enforcement agencies to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.

12.To ensure the Front Office areas, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented, with the highest standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.

13.To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and Company policy and procedures.

14.To seek and continuously develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity, to provide input into future plans and activities, and so maintain and enhance market position.

15.To assist with the recruitment, selection and utilisation of Front Office staff to achieve the optimum use of staff resource in line with business peaks and troughs.

16. To ensure the Hotels compliance with all matters relating to the licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation.

17.To carry out Duty Manager duties as required.

18.Any other duties as required by Senior Management

About You

You will have previous night experience, some of which has been gained at a management level.

  • Excellent communication, numeracy and IT skills

  • A right to work within the United Kingdom
  • Educated to GCSE Standard or the equivalent including English and Maths

  • Hold a third level qualification
  • Previous hospitality management experience
