Taitara Mahi – Public Spaces Ranger
Fixed Term until June 2026 (40 hours per week)

We are looking for a Public Spaces Ranger to join our Security Team within Hastings District Council’s Community Wellbeing and Services Group.

This role is all about being a visible, positive presence in our parks, reserves and freedom camping areas. You’ll build relationships with residents, visitors and volunteers, encourage responsible use of public spaces, and help keep them safe, welcoming and well cared for.

You’ll work closely with our City Assist team, Parks staff, and community partners to ensure bylaw compliance, manage camping hotspots, report hazards, and support kaitiakitanga in partnership with mana whenua.

This is a fixed term, full-time position through to 26 June 2026, working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with flexibility required for twilight or weekend work during the summer season.
