The Hastings District Council is seeking an experienced and commercially astute leader to manage and grow our Arts and Culture venues, including Toitoi Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre, Hastings City Art Gallery and Te Whare Waiaroha. This senior leadership role is responsible for maximising venue performance through strong commercial management, financial sustainability and operational excellence, while ensuring our arts and culture facilities continue to deliver meaningful community outcomes.

You will lead diverse teams, build strategic partnerships, and steward significant public assets, balancing artistic, community and commercial priorities.

To be successful in this role you will bring proven experience leading income‑generating venues or facilities, demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen, and be an inclusive people leader who can build high‑performing teams and trusted stakeholder relationships in a complex environment.
