Welcome to Hastings Direct. We’re a digital insurance provider with ambitious plans to become The Best and Biggest in the UK market. We’ve made huge investments in our data and tech capabilities over the past few years, along with nurturing our 4Cs culture. We’re proud of the journey we’re on as a company and know that our continued success will rely on the contribution of our talented colleagues.

Role overview: Our Finance and Business Services team are about to embark on a period of transformational technological change as part of a broader programme, which aims to deliver a “World Class” finance function by 2027. These technological solutions will drive the automation of manual tasks, resulting in greater capacity for deeper analytical and strategic capability. It will be critical to consider how the finance organisation will develop, how the work performs today and what the future operating model will look like. The key to all this will be the colleague experience – considering the existing skills, required skills, upskilling, reskilling and the appropriate connection to our career frameworks.

Job details – you’ll need to have demonstrable experience in:

  • Providing consultancy across your area(s) of business to identify, propose and collaborate on strategies which drive organisational capabilities, including leadership, culture, capability, efficiency and productivity across Hastings Direct.
  • Developing strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders across HR, your business areas and external partners (at all levels) to ensure effective delivery of learning and capability outcomes.
  • Leading skills and capability programme development, implementation, ongoing delivery and engagement with stakeholders – managing business engagement, expectations and deliverables.
  • Evaluating how initiatives are landing – ensuring that the experience of colleagues impacted and progress against agreed outcomes are measures of success.
  • Embedding our 4Cs framework and transformational leadership principles across all solutions to help us embed the right culture and behaviours.

You’ll play a key role in providing a ‘bridge’ between the technical and human elements of the change process, showing a good understanding of the new systems, understanding how this technology will impact colleagues and the work they do today and helping to redesign the human processes accordingly.

Essential skills/experience:

  • Extensive experience and background as a learning/organisational development practitioner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning and programmatic skills with significant experience driving Technology and human transformation end to end.
  • Outstanding consultancy skills with the ability to influence long term decisions by simplifying complex issues and providing clarity that will drive the best outcomes.
  • Significant stakeholder management skills – able to build trusted relationships by presenting and engaging with colleagues at all levels, across multiple departments.
  • Strong commercial and analytical thinking – can showcase how they’ve used business insight and data to help shape decisions and measure impact.
  • Change leadership in a digital/technological background.
