The CIO team plays a crucial role in this journey, working on cutting-edge projects that enhance our digital presence and improve customer engagement. We provide insurance to nearly four million customers, but we know there’s even bigger opportunity out there.

As a Monitoring and Observability Engineer, you will be supporting the design of, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable monitoring and observability solutions for the IT infrastructure and applications, using various technologies and platforms. Supporting the design of, building and maintaining scalable and reliable event management capabilities to drive auto-healing in support of better performance and stability. Ensuring that the monitoring and observability solutions capture business SLAs, and KPIs, and provide actionable insights and alerts for performance, availability, security, and compliance issues. Supporting the centre of excellence for monitoring and observability, which provides guidance, support, and training for the IT staff and stakeholders on the best practices, standards, and tools for this domain. Collaborating with other CIO teams, such as operations, security, and architecture, to ensure that the monitoring requirements are being delivered as part of the SDLC (shift left) in support of a DevOps culture. Supporting the ongoing evaluation of new capabilities in the monitoring technology stack, conducting proof of concepts, pilots, and tests to validate their suitability together.

Skills we would love you to have:

  • Good experience in IT, with proven experience in site reliability engineering, monitoring and observability, or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge and skills in various monitoring and observability technologies and platforms, especially Dynatrace and Azure Monitor.
  • Strong experience and skills in scripting, automation, in Azure DevOps tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a timely and effective manner.
