This role combines operational leadership and technical claims audit experience. You will lead, motivate, and develop a team of Home Claims Auditors, ensuring delivery of a robust Audit function aligned with business objectives. The role also involves completing operational and external audits to provide Hastings with assurance on Home Claims performance and risk.

Experience Required

  • Leading a group of colleagues to ensure successful outcomes, maintain delivery against schedules/SLA, and completing 121’s, team meetings and PDRs.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of internal and supplier claims processes, commercial initiatives, best practices, and the impact of inefficiencies on customer journey, leakage, financials and fraud.
  • Designing and developing flexible audit approaches that monitor and measure performance against changing business needs.
  • Managing relationships with senior stakeholders within each supplier, ensuring effective scoping, agendas, and feedback, and delivering on-site and remote risk-based audits.
  • Collaborating with commercial teams, operational management and Claims leadership to identify remedial actions, track delivery, and secure financial benefits in line with objectives.
  • Managing root-cause analysis for systems, controls and complaints (including FOS) and recommending improvements to reduce justified complaints, increase renewal retention and comply with FCA regulations.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Strong audit experience, ideally in external supplier space within a regulated environment such as insurance or financial services.
  • Proven leadership experience with strong coaching and team development skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to use MI to identify risk and opportunities and propose proactive solutions.
  • Knowledge of home/household claims in an insurance setting is advantageous.
