Role overview: As a Technical Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future capability of Customer Claims. Working at the heart of colleague development, you'll help build the confidence, skills and judgement that enable colleagues to deliver outstanding customer outcomes. From onboarding new starters to supporting ongoing growth and progression, you'll use your technical expertise, insight and ability to develop others to create a high-performing, capable workforce.

Job details – you’ll need to have demonstrable experience in:

  • Supporting colleagues through a structured onboarding and early development experience, helping them build confidence and capability in role
  • Delivering engaging development sessions, workshops and targeted upskilling activities
  • Supporting colleagues as they transition from learning into the live environment, providing structured development and guidance
  • Identifying capability gaps using quality, audit and performance insight and helping to build solutions to address any issues
  • Reviewing and maintaining technical learning materials and development resourcing and providing ongoing technical expertise and support across Customer Claims functions
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of onboarding, development and upskilling experiences and partnering with Team Leaders and Operational Leaders to strengthen technical capability across teams

Essential skills/experience:

  • Strong technical expertise within a claims or operational environment (within insurance)
  • Proven experience of using performance data and insight to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Experience in supporting onboarding, development or upskilling activities, including coaching
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to be collaborative and build strong relationships across colleagues, wider teams and stakeholders
  • Genuinely passionate about developing others and helping colleagues build confidence and capability
