The Home Alternative Pricing team is part of the broader family of home pricing and underwriting teams. The team’s purpose is to develop innovative ways to price home insurance by creating and leveraging new assets, and to identify additional profitable business opportunities to improve overall results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Home Alternative Pricing team, including working with Home AnDS.
- Create a work environment where everyone can be themselves, feel valued and have their points heard.
- Make pragmatic choices and decisions to ensure success in a rapidly changing marketplace.
- Own the overall net of commission pricing algorithm/structures for home alternative pricing.
- Design and set the pricing strategy for home alternative pricing, including developing new and innovative ways to improve home pricing.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Inquisitive, curious, innovative nature.
- Strategic thinker who can set a strategy and vision that colleagues buy into.
- Strong general insurance background/knowledge and ability to apply that to home insurance.
- Ability to work across technical actuarial and data science modelling and more traditional risk pricing analytical areas, while bringing new innovative techniques to complement existing approaches.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to turn analysis and model outputs into business value.
- Coding experience (ideally Python) preferred.
