Role Overview
We’re expanding our Home Claims team and introducing our first Desk Adjuster role. In this position you will investigate, manage and progress home property damage claims for a range of values and complexities, ensuring claims are handled fairly, accurately and efficiently from first notification through to settlement.
Responsibilities
- Handle a portfolio of home claims from notification to conclusion, reviewing policy coverage, gathering evidence and validating damages.
- Assess and evaluate repair scopes, settlement values and supporting documentation to ensure claims are technically sound and commercially appropriate.
- Instruct and liaise with approved suppliers, contractors, surveyors and other specialists to support claim progression and meet customer needs.
- Deliver clear, empathetic, professional communication to customers across calls, emails and written correspondence.
- Maintain accurate claim records, reserves, diary management and mandatory follow‑ups to progress claims proactively and achieve strong outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues, referral teams, suppliers and field surveyors to achieve quality, service and indemnity outcomes and share insights.
Qualifications / Experience
- Strong background in home claims handling, including experience with large‑loss or complex claims.
- In-depth understanding of claim investigation, evidence evaluation, policy application, and the ability to identify potential fraud indicators.
- Excellent customer focus with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently and sensitively with customers in challenging circumstances.
- Outstanding organisational skills—managing diaries, prioritising workloads, and progressing multiple claims with high attention to detail.
- Confidence to make independent decisions while recognising when referral or escalation is required.
- Experience with supplier instruction and management within a home claims environment is advantageous.
