Data Product Owner and Delivery Lead

This role is a Fixed Term Contract for approximately 12 months.

Role Overview

You will be an integral part of the Analytics Projects Team within Claims, responsible for delivering high‑quality data products and services that support key insurance business initiatives.

You will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, commercial and operational teams, data scientists and stakeholders to define, prioritise and lead the development of data solutions that enable data‑driven decision making and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage data products, including data pipelines, data warehouses and analytics tools, through their entire lifecycle from ideation to delivery.
  • Own end‑to‑end delivery planning for data products, defining scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and issue management.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Coordinate demand, capacity and delivery commitments across business and technical teams, defining and communicating the product vision.
  • Define acceptance criteria for user stories, conduct regular testing and ensure data product quality and reliability meet defined criteria.
  • Provide clear delivery reporting to stakeholders, including progress, risks, decisions and escalations, and act as a bridge between technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring user stories and tasks are well defined, estimated and ready for development.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance data product development and delivery.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Product Owner or Delivery Lead in a data‑focused environment; insurance or other regulated experience is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering, data warehousing and analytics concepts.
  • Experience in risk and dependency management with stakeholder reporting, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, SQL and Power BI.
