Hastings Direct have a number of exciting opportunities for curious, creative and data-driven characters to dive into Insurance Pricing – identifying opportunities to improve how we assess risk to give a fairer price to our customers and thinking laterally about how we approach our work.

However far we delve into the data, we feel it’s important to keep sight of the bigger picture. We’re looking for people who are comfortable and confident with numerical and statistical information, that are able to explain what they are seeing with a range of detail.

We’d love it if you knew your way around an analytical programming environment, whether that be Python, SQL, R or any other language/toolkit that you use to solve problems, find solutions and provide actionable insight.

How you’ll make a difference:
  • You will be at the forefront of developing and evolving sophisticated, segmented pricing across our insurance products.
  • You’ll be exploring a vast data landscape, with all the visibility, ownership and opportunity to see your work evolve into real business impact.
  • Everything we do starts and ends with data, whether that be drawing insights, exploring new ways of how we use it or finding value to change it.
  • You’ll be collaborating with other areas of our Pricing Data & Analytics teams to bring new data sources to life.
What we’re looking for:
  • You have experience using Python, SQL or R and have seen projects through from start to finish in a fast moving, data focussed environment.
  • You’re curious when it comes to data, and comfortable tackling numerical and statistical problems.
  • You’ll enjoy mentoring and developing talented Graduate & Junior Analysts.

  • Technical case study, followed by panel interview
