As a risk modeller within the Hastings lending business, you will utilize cutting‑edge data assets and advanced modelling & analytical tools to shape and drive pricing and credit‑risk management strategies that improve business profitability and customer outcomes.
Your remit will be to continuously improve business profitability and customer outcomes, and you will do this by:
- Developing analytical and modelling solutions to identify and manage customer risk across our credit and pricing strategies
- Driving data‑led automation across the credit lending journey
- Maintaining a resilient portfolio risk mix to support long‑term growth
- Building key performance indicator and customer segmentation monitoring, ensuring alignment with business trading targets and risk appetite thresholds
Essential Skills / Experience
- Experience undertaking predictive modelling, utilising model types such as GLM and GMB
- Strong Python/R and SQL coding capability
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Good communication skills, with the ability to present solutions and results clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Financial services product experience, particularly in a pricing and/or credit risk modelling capacity
