Role Overview
As our Bank Reconciliations Manager, you will ensure all funds received and paid to and from Hastings Group bank accounts are correctly allocated and reconciled. You will manage a small team, ensuring processes are followed, SLAs met, and investigate differences. You will liaise with other business areas to identify and fix defects and report outstanding issues to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bank reconciliation team, embedding new software into BAU operations and coaching team members
- Lead end‑to‑end implementation and change of new bank reconciliation software projects, liaising with system teams, consultants and software providers, and running user acceptance testing
- Investigate bank reconciliation differences caused by system defects, raise user stories and work closely with other departments to determine causes
- Ensure all reconciliation differences are resolved and liaise with other teams to prepare and action cashbook journals to clear outstanding items
- Produce and present monthly control reports to management on outstanding items and issues
- Support wider Finance team with day‑to‑day tasks and other accounting duties relevant to bank reconciliations
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience of bank reconciliations with large volumes of transactions, ideally in insurance or financial services
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft packages, including MS Excel
- Experience managing a team during periods of change
- Proven ability to lead and drive projects forward, work to strict deadlines and prioritise workload
