We are looking for a passionate and proactive Children and Young People’s Community Builder to join the Active Hastings team as part of the Sport England Place Expansion Programme Development Award, led by Active Sussex. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the future of physical activity provision in Hastings by gathering insight that will inform a future full award application to Sport England.

Responsibilities

  • You will play a key role in building strong, trusted relationships with children and young people, particularly those who are currently inactive or from priority groups, ensuring their voices and lived experiences are central to how activities are designed, developed, and delivered.
  • Championing youth voice will be at the heart of this role: creating safe, meaningful opportunities for children and young people to express their views, influence decisions, and co-create the activities and services that affect them.
  • Working as part of a wider system, you will collaborate closely with Active Sussex, alongside local partners and stakeholders to gather insight, align activity, share learning, and contribute to the development of a strong, community-informed case for future investment.
