Join our Planning Policy team and help us deliver a new Local Plan for the Town.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working closely with Planning Officers to ensure our information systems are accurate.
  • Helping keep our public-facing information clear and up to date.
  • Supporting payments and financial administration.
  • Assisting with providing information to external organisations, other council officers and councillors.
  • Being part of a friendly team environment, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and contributing ideas to improve processes and ways of working.

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who is organised, accurate and confident communicating with different audiences, and who can balance competing priorities calmly.

Essential

  • A good general standard of education (including GCSE or equivalent English and Maths).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence communicating clearly in writing and over the phone with a wide range of organisations and colleagues.
  • Experience in an administrative role within a planning or other regulatory setting is ideal.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and learning specialist systems.
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality and GDPR when managing sensitive information and maintaining reliable records.
