The Role:
Are you already a Senior Planning Officer looking for an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge? If so, we’d love to hear from you. An exciting opportunity is available in our Planning Policy Team. You’ll be joining us at a busy time, as our new Local Plan is approaching the Pre-Submission public consultation stage, which will take place later this year. We expect to be at public examination in 2027. We can offer you the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of these important stages of local plan making. As an experienced officer, you’ll assume responsibility for key areas of the draft Plan playing a lead role at EIP and through to adoption.

Who are you?
We are looking for an experienced, confident and self‑motivated person to join our friendly and supportive team to help deliver our Plan. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in planning policy work, good written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of standard IT packages and the ability to work both independently or as part of a small team. You will hold or be working towards a planning qualification accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute and will need to be able to travel around the Borough.
