The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Revenues and Benefits team at Hastings Borough Council. The Revenues and Benefits team is responsible for the timely and accurate assessment of Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support claims in accordance with legislation/local scheme and service performance targets and the billing and recovery of Council Tax ensuring that collection rates and targets are achieved.
About You
You will be a self-motivated and proactive individual educated to GCSE level equivalent (an IRRV Level 3 qualification or above is desirable but not necessary) and have:
- A strong understanding of Housing Benefit and Council Tax legislation.
- Experience of working in a Revenues and Benefits environment.
- Experience of using NEC Revenues and Benefits software.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Resilience and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- A flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
