Salary: £25,989 to £33,699 per annum depending on experience.

Location: Hastings, East Sussex

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full Time / Weekends

Hours: 37 hours per week on a shift basis (shifts vary but will include weekends).

Responsibilities

  • Undertake patrols across the town, including in off‑street car parks.
  • Play a significant role in reducing environmental crime and anti‑social behaviour.
  • Help ensure the town remains a beautiful place to visit and enjoy.
  • Work in close partnership with other agencies, including the Police, other council departments, and the local community.
  • Support the achievement of Community Safety Accreditation through Sussex Police and work towards maintaining this status.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with the public.
  • Some form of enforcement experience is an advantage; full training will be offered to the right person.
  • Full clean driving licence required.
  • Eligible for the Level 4 Anti‑social Behaviour and Community Safety Officer apprenticeship after the probation period (24‑month, sector‑specific program).
  • Appointment on the salary scale is dependent on previous experience.
