Hassett Homes is an innovative, aspirational and high-end house builder, delivering high-quality, design-led residential schemes across Liverpool and the surrounding areas. We are not a volume housebuilder. We do not deliver a repeat standardised product. Every scheme we undertake is bespoke, architecturally considered and executed to an exceptionally high standard.
Our current live project in West Derby involves the conversion of a Grade II Listed building into 11 apartments and 3 coach houses, alongside 18 new build houses. Future schemes are already in the pipeline for sites in Woolton and Mossley Hill. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work directly alongside the Managing Director, gaining exposure to both development and main-contracting operations.
We are seeking an Assistant Site Manager, looking for more than a routine site position; someone motivated by responsibility, growth and quality. This position is ideally suited to someone early in their career and is ambitious, adaptable and eager to learn. Experience with a main contractor, across varied and complex projects, is likely to be more valuable than purely volume housebuilding experience. You will initially work very closely with the Managing Director and wider construction team, learning our processes, methods, standards and expectations. Over time, there is a clear pathway to increased responsibility and progression to Site Manager level.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the construction team and Managing Director in day-to-day site management
- Managing and updating the build programme
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring trades attend as scheduled
- Calling off materials and managing deliveries
- Assisting with procurement packages where required
- Conducting regular build inspections to ensure workmanship meets our exacting standards
- Overseeing health & safety compliance and site documentation with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring quality control across all trades
- Reporting progress to the wider senior team
- Helping drive programme efficiency without compromising quality
What Weβre Looking For
We are more so interested in the right person, not just the right CV. The successful candidate will likely have:
- 3β7 years' construction experience (not essential, but ideal)
- Experience with a main contractor or developer within complex project environments
- Strong organisational skills and programme awareness
- A meticulous eye for detail
- Confidence to communicate with trades and senior stakeholders
- Ability to think independently and solve problems proactively
- A desire to build a long-term career in high-quality residential development
Essential / preferred:
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- CSCS (Black preferred)
- First Aid
- Temporary Works knowledge
- Full UK driving licence
Why Join Hassett Homes?
- Direct mentorship from the Managing Director
- Exposure to both development and main-contract operations
- Genuine progression pathway
- Opportunity to work on architecturally sensitive, high-quality schemes
- An ambitious team environment
- The chance to shape future projects as the business grows
- Competitive salary
This role will suit someone who wants responsibility early, values quality over volume and is motivated by building something exceptional, rather than simply delivering units.
