About Our Environment Resilience Renewables Advisory Group:
Our UK Acoustics practice has an enviable project portfolio across market sectors including aviation, energy, buildings, maritime, industry and urban development, providing a wide range of career development opportunities. We specialise in major and complex projects, resolving environmental noise and vibration effects on people and other species, such as birdlife and marine mammals, in collaboration with our species expert colleagues. We also regularly provide our clients with advice on building acoustic design, occupational acoustics and industrial noise control.
Our Acoustics practice sits in our Environment Resilience Renewables, which has been providing environmental solutions for our clients for over 30 years in the UK. We offer a comprehensive range of environmental services to support all sizes and types of development. From high profile infrastructure projects such as the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farms, the Woodsmith Crop Nutrients Mine, and Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station, to carbon management, climate resilience, locally-driven habitat enhancement and wider biodiversity net gain projects. We combine market-leading technical excellence, across the range of environmental disciplines, with a clear understanding of clients' ambitions, needs and pressures.
Job Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability in most aspects of noise and vibration. In this role, you will apply these skills across a variety of projects, undertaking predictive calculations and modelling, technical report writing, environmental impact assessment, building acoustics design and providing mitigation advice. You will be expected to provide technical support to junior members of the noise and vibration team, contribute towards our continued growth and development, as well as being involved in identifying business opportunities and providing clients with robust and helpful advice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant subject and/or the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
- 5 or more years' experience in acoustic consultancy.
- Experience of noise monitoring surveys, noise modelling software and Environmental Impact Assessment.
- Working knowledge of legislation and guidelines relevant to the acoustics sector.
- Knowledge of underwater noise modelling.
- Commercial understanding, an interest in securing new business and confidence at the client-interface.
- Corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics.
