- Developing and refining transport policies and strategies for UK public sector clients.
- Preparing evidence‑based business cases for sustainable transport schemes.
- Using transport modelling in a proportionate and pragmatic way – balancing future travel forecasts with real‑world user needs.
- Providing expert input into planning applications, underpinned by a deep knowledge of planning legislation and sustainable development practices.
- Delivering major infrastructure consent and subsequent compliance requirements.
- Working with appropriate autonomy, managing your own workload across multiple projects, taking responsibility for delivering high‑quality, client‑ready outputs to agreed timescales.
What we expect from you:
- Experience contributing to transport planning projects for UK public sector or development sector clients within a consultancy or similar professional environment.
- Sound professional judgement, with the confidence to interpret policy, guidance and technical evidence.
- Experience undertaking research and analysis that informs people‑focused, sustainable transport outcomes.
- An ability to work constructively with clients and stakeholders to support the development and delivery of transport solutions.
- Relevant knowledge and skills to extract and analyse large data sets and present findings and insights, including through the use of advanced data mapping and visualisation techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the production of clear, high‑quality reports.
- A collaborative approach, including supporting and constructively reviewing the work of less experienced colleagues.
What you can expect from us:
- A competitive base salary reflecting your skills and experience.
- Pension accrual through our own pension fund with an employer contribution of 7% and annual profit sharing, where 40% of our profit is distributed among employees.
- 25 vacation days (based on full‑time employment), with the option to purchase an additional 10 days per year and to exchange three public holidays for days that are personally meaningful to you.
- We work in a hybrid model with flexible hours, a home‑office allowance, and a fully equipped home workspace.
- A wide range of training and development programmes, including tailored learning paths, learning weeks, and various knowledge‑sharing groups.
- An informal and inclusive culture: a welcoming and open environment with voluntary social and sports activities, and employee networks such as Pride and Young Haskoning.
- Private medical and dental cover fully paid by the company, with an option to extend it to your family at discounted rates.
