Overview: This role focuses on geo environmental assessment work to support complex infrastructure developments and operations. The position involves contributing to a broad range of projects within a market-leading environmental consultancy team and supporting clients through brownfield and greenfield site regeneration.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability in relation to detailed geo environmental assessment reports for human health and controlled waters.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and write geo environmental desk-based studies (preliminary environmental risk assessments) and general quantitative risk assessments to a high standard.
  • Supervise and manage ground investigation including soil and rock logging and gas and groundwater sampling and monitoring in contaminated land.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of regulatory and legal requirements in relation to contaminated land and assist with planning processes related to contaminated land.
  • Produce clear, well-structured reports and communicate results effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in geology, engineering geology or a relevant environmental science discipline.
  • A full, preferably clean, driving licence is required.
  • Desirable: Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Desirable: Membership of an appropriate professional organisation with pathway aspirations toward professional qualifications.
