You will be supported to continue developing your expertise while working alongside established industry specialists.

At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee‑owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology. Our mission, “Enhancing Society Together,” drives us to create a positive impact on the world. We offer purpose‑driven and challenging work on diverse projects, leveraging our 140+ years of expertise. With over 6,800 employees in more than 25 countries, we work together to turn challenges into opportunities and make a real impact on society. Our people are at the forefront of delivering sustainable and future‑ready solutions for both the built and natural environment. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate closely with clients and partners to create positive change for communities and the environment.

As a member of the Integrated Transport Planning (ITP) team within Haskoning, you will work alongside skilled professionals united by a shared passion for vision‑led transport planning, designing sustainable mobility solutions that meet people’s needs and help shape places that reflect the unique character of their local context.

What you will do as a Senior Consultant:

  • Take a proactive approach to your work, applying your experience in any of the following technical areas within a consultancy or client environment:
  • Designing and delivering active and sustainable places by applying vision‑led transport planning and placemaking principles.
  • Identifying the need for change in public transport networks and producing solutions that are deliverable, affordable and sustainable.
  • Developing and refining transport policies and strategies for UK public sector clients.
  • Preparing evidence‑based business cases for sustainable transport schemes.
  • Using transport modelling in a proportionate and pragmatic way – balancing future travel forecasts with real‑world user needs.
  • Providing expert input into planning applications, underpinned by a deep knowledge of planning legislation and sustainable development practices.
  • Delivering major infrastructure consent and subsequent compliance requirements.

Working with appropriate autonomy, you will manage your own workload across multiple projects, taking responsibility for delivering high‑quality, client‑ready outputs to agreed timescales. The role requires strong analytical and report‑writing skills, confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders, and the ambition to take on increasing responsibility as part of a supportive project team.

What we expect from you:

  • Experience contributing to transport planning projects for UK public sector or development sector clients within a consultancy or similar professional environment.
  • Sound professional judgement, with the confidence to interpret policy, guidance and technical evidence.
  • Experience undertaking research and analysis that informs people focused, sustainable transport outcomes.
  • An ability to work constructively with clients and stakeholders to support the development and delivery of transport solutions.
  • Relevant knowledge and skills to extract and analyse large data sets and present findings and insights, including through the use of advanced data mapping and visualisation techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the production of clear, high quality reports.
  • A collaborative approach, including supporting and constructively reviewing the work of less experienced colleagues.

What you can expect from us:

  • A competitive base salary reflecting your skills and experience.
  • An attractive compensation package: Including pension accrual through our own pension fund with an employer contribution of 7% and annual profit sharing, where 40% of our profit is distributed among employees.
  • 25 vacation days (based on full‑time employment), with the option to purchase an additional 10 days per year and to exchange three public holidays for days that are personally meaningful to you.
  • We work in a hybrid model with flexible hours, home office allowance, and a fully equipped home workspace.
  • A wide range of training and development programmes, including tailored learning paths, learning weeks, and various knowledge‑sharing groups.
  • A welcoming and open environment with voluntary social and sports activities, and employee networks such as Pride and Young Haskoning.
  • Private medical and dental cover: Fully paid by the company with an option to extend it to your family at discounted rates.

At Haskoning, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.
