About our Industry team: Haskoning focuses on delivering our expertise into specific market sectors where we can truly benefit our clients, one of these is the Industry sector. Our UK based Industry team works closely both with global experts in the sector and other parts of our UK business to provide what our clients need. We have a significant growth plan for our UK based Industry team with expansion of our client base using integrated value propositions being a critical part of the plan.

About the role: We are looking to appoint a Business Development professional with a proven background in the design and operation of built assets within the Industry sector with responsibility to help support our UK wide growth ambitions. The UK Industry team concentrates on growth and delivery in the following areas:

  • Logistics including high bay warehouses, cold stores and automated distribution centres
  • Food and beverage production
  • Defence product and equipment manufacturing

This is a unique and challenging opportunity at an exciting moment in our growth. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Grow Industry sector profitable revenue and market share
  • Personally originate, lead and convert a sustainable pipeline of high-quality opportunities
  • Collaborate across commercial teams within both UK business and globally
  • Identify, qualify and develop new key accounts
  • Undertake structured market and account analysis
  • Lead, coordinate and support all framework bidding and major pursuits
  • Position Haskoning as a recognised market thought leader
  • Strengthen client relationships through oversight of client care during delivery

Required Skills and Experience: With excellent communication and presentation skills, you will have a proven ability in influencing at senior levels, can demonstrate a sound commercial awareness with your background showing the following:

  • Experience working for a consultant is essential
  • A track record of success in business development within design and operation of Industry sector built assets with experience across marketing, through tendering and bid management, to customer account management and development.
  • Strong selling/marketing capabilities and ability to understand how different sectors or industries work to identify target clients and markets.
  • Ability to recognise and foster the required relationships to position the business as a prospective player in the UK Industry market.
  • Existing strong network of UK Industry sector relationships relevant to the role.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and orchestrate client mapping, business development and strategic pursuits.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business.
  • Ability to influence, convince and partner with key internal stakeholders and colleagues to achieve broader collaboration and shared strategic goals.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment, influencing stakeholders across a matrix management structure.
  • Chartered Institute, MBA or equivalent and relevant accreditation to support the complex nature of business development and technical input required for the position would be beneficial.

What we can offer you: A salary between £70,000 and £85,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus a comprehensive bonus and benefits package.
