About the role: We’re looking for a Senior Coastal Modeller to join our growing Numerical Modelling team within our Maritime team in the UK. In this role, you’ll work on a wide range of coastal and maritime projects, supporting the design and development of infrastructure such as breakwaters, seawalls, revetments, and marine outfalls. You’ll also play a key role in understanding coastal processes and supporting environmental consenting. What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and delivering numerical modelling studies across coastal and maritime projects
  • Collecting, analysing and processing data to inform model development
  • Carrying out hydrodynamic, wave, sediment transport, water quality and CFD modelling
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports and presenting findings clearly to clients and colleagues
  • Supporting project delivery by working to a programme and a budget
  • Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues in their development
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, including the use of digital tools and best practice within the team

What we’re looking for: We’re interested in hearing from people who bring strong technical expertise alongside a collaborative and positive approach. You’ll ideally have:

  • Demonstrable experience in coastal numerical modelling
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent experience) in coastal engineering, oceanography, hydrodynamics, environmental modelling or similar
  • The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience with model setup, calibration and validation
  • Knowledge of coastal processes, sediment transport, CFD or water quality modelling
  • Experience using GIS tools
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python)
  • A postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD) in a relevant subject
