We are recruiting a Stock Control Assistant working part time, 22.5 hours per week. Salary £12.71 per hour.

The role of Stock Control Assistant involves assisting with the daily operations of the Stock Control Team to ensure effective and efficient movement of stock through our garden centre. You will be required to deliver accurate administration to maximise profit and minimise losses, using your natural passion for accuracy and attention to detail. You will be working in a warehouse environment contributing to consistent and efficient warehouse operations.
This role is at the heart of everything we do, you’ll be collaborating with the Operations Team and wider Garden Centre daily to support the smooth running of our centre.
Skills required for the role:
- Previous Goods-In and/or Warehouse related experience
- Excellent communication and networking skills at all levels
- Methodical approach to work with a high attention to detail
- Administration experience with excellent up to date knowledge of IT systems
- Planning, prioritising, and attention to detail
- Can-do Approach to processes and systems
- Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse and shop floor environment
- High level of inter-personal skills
- Enjoyment of team-working
- Flexible ‘work ethic’
- Highly self-motivated
- High standard of personal presentation
- Good level of fitness as heavy lifting is required frequently
Desirable skills:
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Valid Fork-Lift license
- Full UK Driving License
Role includes:
- Packing, palletising, and picking stock
- Organising and keeping all working areas safe, secure, and tidy
- Unloading and loading of stock
- Accurate booking in of stock
- Supporting the driver with delivering customer goods
- Assisting with stock price checks to apply with regulations
- Supporting colleagues and providing cover for tasks and responsibilities as needed
- Inventory checks supporting Stock Control team, including returns, inventory discrepancies, and system corrections
