We are recruiting a Stock Control Assistant & Driver on a Full Time (38 hours per week), and Permanent basis. Salary up to £12.96 per hour.

The role of Stock Control Assistant & Driver involves assisting with the daily operations of the Stock Control Team to ensure effective and efficient movement of stock through our garden centre. You will be required to deliver accurate administration to maximise profit and minimise losses, using your natural passion for accuracy and attention to detail. You will contribute to consistent and efficient warehouse operations while providing a 'customer delivery' service that is professional, timely, and exceeds our customer expectations. This role is at the heart of everything we do, you'll be collaborating with the Operations Team and wider Garden Centre daily to support the smooth running of our centre. A Full UK Driver's License is required for this role.
Skills required for the role:
- Previous Goods In, Warehouse, and/or Driver related experience
- Excellent communication and networking skills at all levels
- Administration experience with excellent up to date knowledge of IT systems and high attention to detail
- Planning, prioritising, and efficiency; including ensuring economical routes are planned when organising customer deliveries
- Able to work enthusiastically in a fast paced warehouse, shop floor environment or in fulfilling your driver duties
- High level of inter personal skills and enjoyment of team working
- Self motivated with high standards of personal practice and presentation
- Good level of fitness as heavy lifting will be required for this role
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Valid Fork Lift license - or willing to learn
Role includes:
- Packing, palletising, and picking stock in an organised, safe, and secure manner
- Accurate booking in of stock
- Loading & unloading of stock and supporting with delivering customer goods
- Assisting with stock price checks to apply with regulations
- Supporting colleagues and providing cover for tasks and responsibilities as needed
- Inventory checks supporting Stock Control team, including returns, inventory discrepancies, and system corrections
- Resolving any customer queries professionally and efficiently
- Ensuring delivery vehicle is maintained to high standards and cleanliness
