We are seeking an experienced, organised and proactive individual to lead the day-to-day operational running of the business.
Role Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of HASI, providing operational leadership and ensuring the effective coordination of training delivery, consultancy projects, resources, compliance and client service.
The role works closely with the Managing Director and the wider HASI team to support the continued growth and quality of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of HASI, ensuring the efficient scheduling and delivery of training courses and consultancy assignments.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring a high standard of customer service from enquiry through to course/project completion.
- Coordinate trainers, consultants and associates, managing diaries, venues, equipment and course materials for planned activity.
- Support quality assurance and compliance across accredited and non-accredited training provision, working alongside the wider team on audit and certification requirements.
- Manage administrative and operational processes, including bookings, invoicing coordination, records management and reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of quotations, proposals and tenders for new and existing clients.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and day-to-day line management of operational and administrative staff.
- Monitor and help maintain health, safety and quality standards within HASI's own operations, in line with ISO 45001 and related management systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, systems and processes.

Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in an operations, office or business management role, ideally within training, consultancy, or a service-based business.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently, including under pressure or time constraints.
- Experience leading and supervising a small team.
- Ability to work effectively with senior management, exercising judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
- A strategic outlook, able to see beyond day-to-day operations and contribute to the wider direction of the business.
- Good ICT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and scheduling/booking systems.
- A methodical, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel occasionally.
Desirable
- Experience within the construction, health and safety, or training sector.
- Knowledge of construction industry skills cards (e. g. CSCS, CSR) and related site access requirements.
- Knowledge of awarding body or accreditation requirements (e. g. CITB, IOSH, IPAF, NPORS, GQA).
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (e. g. ISO 45001, ISO 9001).
- Experience using a learning management system (LMS) or training administration software.
- A relevant third-level qualification in business, management, or a related discipline.
