This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) role within our team at Hashir International Institute and High Five OT.

We offer full-time, part-time and “term time only” contracts. Term time contracts are typically 38 to 40 weeks. Staff on term time contracts take their annual leave during school holidays and they get paid for the hours worked during the term plus their annual leave entitlement. The salary is usually paid in 12 monthly instalments.

Job summary:

The post holder will:

  1. Support OTs in the delivery of assessment and treatment plans for children and young people with severe and complex learning difficulties (e.g., children diagnosed with Dyspraxia/ DCD, Developmental Delays, ASD, ADHD and neurological disorders) in school, home and clinical settings.
  2. Assist other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of the clinics.
  3. Work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  4. Share responsibilities with administration staff and medical secretaries within the institute.
  5. Contribute to research studies.
  6. Contribute to dissemination of research results in conferences, scientific meetings and via social media.
  7. Assist in developing educational programmes for parents and professionals.

Hashir International Institute is an independent, UK-based research institute and multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic employing audiologists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, health psychologists, neuroscientists and researchers.

The post holder will need to be a motivated and flexible team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The post holder must be a car driver, with access to a car to travel to different locations in Surrey (UK) for school and home visits as well as attending our clinic in Guildford, Merrow and Burpham.
