Are you an experienced transport or logistics professional who enjoys leading a team, keeping operations running smoothly and delivering excellent customer service?HAS-Vent is looking for a proactive and hands-on Transport & Logistics Supervisor to join our team at Wombourne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a practical approach to supervising day-to-day transport, loading and despatch operations.Reporting to the Transport & Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating drivers and loading personnel, ensuring deliveries are planned effectively, goods are despatched accurately and operations run safely and efficiently.
The RoleAs Transport & Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating drivers and loading teams to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
- Planning and coordinating daily delivery schedules, workloads and despatch priorities.
- Ensuring goods are picked, prepared, checked and loaded accurately, with all relevant paperwork completed.
- Working closely with Production and Warehouse teams to ensure finished goods are ready for despatch on time.
- Monitoring delivery progress, vehicle availability and turnaround times, resolving operational issues as they arise.
- Promoting high standards of health and safety across transport, loading and yard operations.
- Supporting vehicle compliance, maintenance procedures and driver working time requirements.
- Maintaining accurate transport records and using company systems to support planning and reporting.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce delays and minimise unnecessary costs.
- Supporting the training, development and performance of team members.
- Communicating effectively with internal departments and escalating significant issues to the Transport & Logistics Manager.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, motivated and confident supervising a team in a busy operational environment.You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a transport, logistics, warehouse or despatch supervisory role.
- Experience coordinating drivers, vehicle schedules and loading activities.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good communication and team leadership skills.
- A sound understanding of transport compliance, vehicle safety and health and safety procedures.
- Good IT skills, ideally including experience with ERP or transport management systems.
- A customer-focused mindset and a commitment to accuracy and operational efficiency.
- A flexible, hands-on approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Experience supporting operator licence compliance or FORS accreditation would be advantageous.
