Job Purpose:
The role of the Driver is to support the business by carrying out driving duties.
Department/Business/Location: Southampton Audi
Reports To: Head of Fleet
Direct Reports: None
Key Responsibilities:
- At the request of the fleet sales department, carry out a pre-delivery quality check and ensure the vehicle meets customer expectations.
- Carry out a final handover with the customer upon delivery of (sold) vehicles.
- Ensure all documentation is accurately completed in line with business standards and return to the sales, service or parts departments.
- Maintain safe working practices and standards, including driving all vehicles with due care and attention for all customers, road users and pedestrians.
- Load handling, ensuring that goods are securely loaded and protected from damage during transport.
- Responsible for ensuring Driver CPC is valid.
- Ensure pre-journey check reports are completed and submitted, including retaining straps.
- Ensure accurate records of driving hours, mileage and delivery details to comply with UK regulations.
- Report any infringements to the Line Manager and to the Transport Manager.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Full UK HGV driving licence – up to class C+E.
- Smart appearance.
- Competency in numeracy and literacy.
Desirable:
- Advanced motoring qualification.
- Bus/coach driving licence.
Experience:
- Driver CPC qualifications up to date.
Desirable:
- Previously employed in a position of trust.
