I'm currently supporting a well established Law firm in Basingstoke who is recruiting for a legal secretary to cover a 12 month maternity contract supporting the Litigation and Employment team. The role will involve undertaking administrative tasks to support the Head of Litigation and the Employment department. This includes a wide range of tasks, in particular:
- Preparing documents and correspondence, including preparing mail and enclosures.
- Preparing letters and legal documents.
- Typing from digital dictation.
- Photocopying and filing.
- Opening and closing matter files.
- Handling telephone and other queries from clients and others including taking initial enquiries.
- Taking telephone messages.
- Making appointments and managing diaries.
- General support for other Departments when necessary (e.g. in the event of sickness, absence on holiday cover or pressure of work).
- Post cover where necessary.
- Liaising with the Administration Assistant regarding photocopying requirements and, where necessary (i.e. due to absence) to carry out photocopying.
- Working in tandem with other staff in the Department.
- Reception cover where necessary.
- Any other duties as reasonably directed by the Directors.
Requirements:
- Administrative experience within the legal sector.
- Experience of working within Litigation or Employment.
