I'm currently supporting a fast paced and leading Law firm based in Totnes who is looking for an experienced Family Law Legal Secretary to join their friendly and supportive team.
Duties include:
- Identifying and locating open but dormant files and taking steps to close them, liaising where necessary with the Fee Earner responsible, advising on time or financial balances and any outstanding work.
- Dealing with formal file closing and archiving where necessary.
- Identifying and locating archives shown as booked out to individual Fee Earners and updating databases where necessary.
- To provide cost effective administrative and secretarial support to all departments.
- The jobholder is not designated as a matter handler for file review purposes and does not therefore have her/his own file caseload.
- Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications.
- Manage the collation of matter start and matter completion data.
- Co-ordination of the key dates reminder system.
- Participation in marketing activities whether on a firm-wide, departmental or office basis.
- Attendance at all staff meetings where required with contributions made at and subsequent to such events.
- To respond to all work related internal emails where required to do so within 24 hours.
- To become fully familiar with the staff handbook and to comply fully with the practice rules and procedures provided therein.
