I am currently supporting a well-established family-run business specialising in marine engine sales, parts and servicing, working within both the leisure and commercial boating sector. They are recruiting for a Marine Engineer to join their busy and friendly team. The business delivers a full range of services, including engine installation, servicing, repairs, and electrical.
This role is located at clients' sites on the Thames, so a full driving licence is required. The company's expertise spans inboard and outboard systems, diesel and petrol engines, and vessels ranging from small RIBs and auxiliary engines to large tug boats and barges.
Key Responsibilities of a Marine Engineer:- Install a wide range of mechanical and domestic equipment on both new and pre-owned vessels and trailers.
- Carry out routine servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines and customer requirements.
- Attend call-outs, providing effective immediate and long-term repair solutions.
- Travel to undertake work on vessels locally and across the Thames.
- Perform fault-finding and troubleshooting.
- Industry training within the marine leisure sector is preferred but not essential.
- Experience working with petrol and diesel engines and equipment.
