I am currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Accounts Assistant to join a friendly Accounts team of 3 supporting the day to day running of a busy solicitor practice. As the Legal Accounts Assistant you will be working to a high level of accuracy, often under pressure and/or time constraints. You’ll be responsible for a broad range of standard legal accounts tasks, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and working collaboratively with the rest of the accounts team.
Legal Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
- Processing entries into the firm’s accounts systems
- Reconciling client and office bank accounts daily
- Checking and processing bills
- Liaising with lawyers to ensure accurate financial transactions
- Managing client payments for invoices and resolving related queries
- Supporting colleagues within the accounts team and providing cover during absences
- Ability to prioritise work due to the ever-changing work flows. This can, at times, be a demanding and fast paced role.
Qualifications and personal attributes:
- Essential – minimum 3+ years in an Accounts role (in a legal field desirable)
- AAT Accounting Level 4 or equivalent
- 2 x A Level or equivalent, preferably in a relevant subject
- Confident in using Office applications; Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
