I'm currently recruiting for a well-established law firm in Basingstoke who is currently looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their friendly team. This role is fully office-based.
Daily duties will include:
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Weekly cash flow and projected cash flow
- Weekly income
- Preparing financial reports (to include work in progress and billing) for senior management
- Assisting with the month-end close process
- Dealing with completions CHAPS/BACS payments in and out and checking completion statements
- Processing payments and receipts using online banking, cheques and debit cards
- Processing invoices to our clients
- Maintenance of an effective Credit Control system in the absence of the Finance Manager
- Daily banking
- Accounts related queries on file closure
- Accounts scanning
- Accounts queries and other related matters as required
- Taking payments over the phone and in person and dealing with client finance queries
- File Opening process check Client Risk & Assessment Forms and ID have been completed in full and carry out AML checks if required
- File Closure process check Account ledgers are clear and complete the finance section of the file closure form
- To order stationery as and when required and to monitor all stationery accounts and co-ordinate payment with the Finance Manager
- Admin filing and scanning
Required Skills:
- Experience of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and working within a legal accounts environment is helpful but not essential
- Previous experience working in a finance support role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proactive with the ability to prioritise effectively
- High level of attention to detail/accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
