The Role
Harwin are currently recruiting a permanent role as a Senior Design Engineer in the product department, working on the design and development of new and existing products, from concept through to product launch. This is an opportunity to work within a skilled team in New Product Design and Development, influencing the design and launch of new products to Harwin’s portfolio, whilst cross functionally integrating with tooling and manufacturing departments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce 3D CAD designs and technical drawings for manufacturing and customers.
- Design work for the development of new product ideas; developing concepts through to full manufacture and launch.
- Provide technical support to other departments.
- Adhere to Global Engineering and industry standards.
- Be able to manage a cross functional team.
- FMEA process to identify problems during new product development or when quality concerns arise.
- Manage personal daily tasks to achieve project success.
- Check manufacturing and customer drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Uphold EN9100 standards by adhering to company procedures.
- Seek continuous improvement and implement techniques to improve the role and business.
- Supporting the full lifecycle of our products.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree level qualification or equivalent in Mechanical and/or Electronic Engineering.
- Previous experience in a design role.
- Understanding and use of Creo Parametric or Solidworks software, FEA experience advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (E.g. Word & Excel).
- Ability to follow instructions to a high degree of accuracy.
- Competent in working both independently and within a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working within standard quality procedures and engineering tolerancing.
- Willingness to learn about production processes, design parameters and standardisation.
