The Role The Group Accountant will support the Group Financial Controller in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial and management information across the group. The role combines group consolidation, financial accounting, and statutory reporting responsibilities, with exposure to process improvement and system development in a growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly group consolidated accounts, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
  • Ownership of the group consolidation process and supporting schedules
  • Treasury responsibilities including cash and FX forecasting and management
  • Management of balance sheet integrity, including detailed reconciliations and review
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to translate financial data into actionable insight, supporting strategic decision making across the business
  • Support for audit processes, including liaison with external auditors
  • Oversight of intercompany transactions and balances across the group
  • Assistance in the development and improvement of financial controls and reporting processes
  • Contribution to group reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Review of Payroll compliance and changes
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required
  • Involvement in finance transformation initiatives, including system enhancements and automation
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements

Key Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant/Finalist (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including consolidation principles
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts
  • Exposure to multi-entity environments
  • High level of attention to detail and strong analytical capability
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast paced, growth oriented environment

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a group accounting or financial accounting role
  • Prior exposure to group consolidations in an international business
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably IFS or similar
