The Opportunity
We are seeking a practical, hands‑on Press Shop Operator/Setter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting and operating press equipment, performing quality checks, and supporting the efficient, safe, and high‑quality production of components. You will work closely with colleagues across production to meet daily targets while contributing to continuous improvement in processes and performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor press shop equipment
- Adjust press tooling to maintain optimal component quality, escalating issues when required.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure high machine utilisation and performance.
- Maintain ERP accuracy by recording production data correctly.
- Maintain organised and controlled line‑side stock
- Conduct regular component inspections to ensure adherence to Harwin quality standards
- Accurately measure, record, and document quality results
- Proactively suggest improvements to tooling, processes, quality, and efficiency
- Maintain effective working relationships within the department and cross‑functionally
- Demonstrate good timekeeping and job planning around order deadlines and reel completion
- Adhere to all Harwin safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (press shop experience desirable)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to use basic computer systems for data entry and reporting
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and an effective team member
